As previously mentioned, LAUSD is sending you a letter confirming receipt of your Choices application. If you submitted the application online, you should have received an email containing a link to a page where you can access the letter. (I received my email on Saturday.) If your child is currently an LAUSD student, you'll need to log in to your Parent Access account to view the letter. If your child is not a current LAUSD student, you'll need the application confirmation number located at the top right of the first page of the application, as well as your child's birthdate, your email address, and your home phone number.
If you submitted a paper application, you will receive a letter via snail mail, probably sometime this week.
Be sure to verify the information in the confirmation letter, particularly the program that you applied to and any priority points that you may have. If the letter indicates that corrections or additional information is required, be sure to follow the instructions so that your child is considered for the program to which you applied.
If you applied to a Gifted/High Ability or Highly Gifted magnet program, you will receive a separate notification regarding your child's eligibility for the program. You can learn more about gifted magnet programs here.
Notification letters, which indicate whether your child was accepted into a program, are sent out by the end of April. If your child is accepted to a school you'd like him or her to attend, be sure to follow the instructions in the letter to claim your spot.
